EDA GOVERNANCE

The EDA is governed by elected directors who set the strategic direction for the association and a skilled, experienced leadership team that oversees EDA operations. Activities and decisions of the board of directors are guided by the EDA’s By-laws, Guidelines and Terms of Reference.

As a not-for-profit corporation, the EDA has a set of corporate by-laws that governs the operation of the association. Among other strategic and operational considerations, the EDA by-laws outline:

The eligibility requirements and privileges of EDA membership
The roles, responsibilities and authority of directors
The roles, responsibilities and authority of board executives
The roles, responsibilities and authority of EDA Councils and Districts.

The EDA by-laws are approved and ratified by the membership. The EDA By-laws, Guidelines and Terms of Reference document was last updated in March 2022.
