As electricity demand continues to grow and the grid needs to modernize, GrandBridge created a clear plan to guide its sustainability work. This plan focuses on setting clear goals, measuring progress, and being open about results.
In 2024, GrandBridge Energy created its Roadmap to a Sustainable Future, based on its five year strategic plan. In 2025, the focus moved from planning to action. The company launched a formal environmental, social, and governance (ESG) program and published its first Corporate Responsibility Report. This report established a starting point to track progress and support decision making going forward.
In 2025, GrandBridge Energy delivered real, measurable results, by refining their own internal processes. They began tracking operational greenhouse gas emissions to better understand its environmental impact. GrandBridge Energy also expanded its electric vehicle fleet from four to 12 vehicles and upgraded a diesel bucket truck with electric equipment.
From there, the utility created the “Win Big! Win Cash!” contest, which encouraged customers to swap from paper billing to eBilling for a chance to win up $1500 cash. During the contests run, more than 7,000 customers switched to paperless billing through a customer awareness campaign.
The utility servicing Brantford, Cambridge, North Dumfries and Brant also focused on supporting customers and the community. The utility submitted its Electricity Demand Side Management (eDSM) plan to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), which was approved in October 2025. This enables GrandBridge to join the province wide Save on Energy programs, which will bring savings to their residential and commercial customers.
The utility’s investments went beyond infrastructure. Workforce development and enabling future generations of workers were also priorities. These efforts included offering 30 co op placements, growing its apprenticeship program, and donating vehicles worth more than $100,000 to Conestoga College to support skilled trades training.
Through clear plans and practical action, GrandBridge Energy continues to move toward a more sustainable energy future.
