The EDA Awards Gala Celebrates LDC Achievements
In a year unlike any other, excellence abounded throughout the electricity distribution sector in Ontario, and our EDA Awards Gala was an annual celebration of the many noteworthy achievements of our LDC members.
We developed this virtual gala with one thing in mind – to bring our amazing community together to celebrate the outstanding projects, organizations, and people in our industry. The EDA would like to congratulate all the EDA excellence award nominees – because you are all winners in our book. The multiple nominations in each award category are summarized below.
LDC Performance Excellence
The LDC Performance Excellence Award recognizes the outstanding performance of a local electricity distribution utility member of the EDA for distinction in multiple categories including occupational health and safety, operations, finance, conservation, and contributions to the local community.

The Communications Excellence Award recognizes eligible programs and initiatives which successfully inform the public about a local electricity distribution utility project.

Customer Service Excellence
The Customer Service Excellence Award recognizes eligible programs that are directed at specific customers or customer groups that enhance the value of the local electricity distribution utility and its service to those customers.

Environmental Excellence
The Environmental Excellence Award recognizes outstanding efforts in striving to protect and improve the environment in 2020. Selection criteria include environmental benefits, stewardship, economic benefit, innovation and applicability.

Innovation Excellence
The Innovation Excellence Award recognizes LDCs that have introduced unique business models focused on new or better ways of creating value while having a meaningful impact on customer satisfaction in order to adapt to changing consumer demands and behaviours, new legislation, regulation and policy, and advances in technology.
